Claudia Bloom, violin, began her studies in Berkeley with Anne Crowden. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree at the Manhattan School of Music as a full scholarship student under Raphael Bronstein and Ariana Bronne. Upon graduation Ms. Bloom received the Karl Kraeuter Award for Outstanding Achievement in Chamber Music. She completed her Master of Music degree as a teaching assistant at the Yale School of Music where she studied with Syoko Aki Erle. From 1982 to 1990 Ms. Bloom was a member of the Ciompi Quartet in residence at Duke University as a well as a full-time member of the faculty. From 1990 to 1992 she was co- concertmaster of the Zurich (Switzerland) Symphony Orchestra. Currently she plays principal second violin in Opera San Jose, is a member of the Grace Note Chamber Players. Claudia is also the director of the Palo Alto School of Chamber Music, a year-long program for students of all ages. |

Pianist Jean Goyal left her native Singapore in 1985 to pursue music in the United States. She earned her B.Mus. in chamber music and piano accompanying and a M.A. in musicology from Indiana University. Her Ph.D. (ABD) from Stanford University was fortuitously interrupted by the birth of her first child. As her family has matured, she has rediscovered the joys of performing music, and through performance, returned to her study of music. |

Violinist Sue-mi Shin, a native of Korea, has been an avid chamber musician, orchestral player, and educator in San Francisco bay area. Currently she is a member of Opera San Jose orchestra and Monterey Symphony, and often performs with Symphony Silicon Valley and San Jose Chamber Orchestra among many others. As a chamber musician, she was a founding member of the LEAF piano trio and has served as a music director of SF Sonnet Ensemble. Currently, she teaches at Norte Dame Namur University in Belmont while she maintains a dedicated private studio and coaches young musicians under many youth orchestra organizations in the bay area. The winner of the Henry Janiac Young Artist's Competition, Ms. Shin has given numerous solo and chamber music concerts in New York, Connecticut, Georgia, South Carolina and California; further more overseas concerts in Spain, France and South Korea. She holds a BM degree from Manhattan School of Music and a MM degree from Yale University in Violin Performance. |

Korean-Canadian cellist Katie Youn* has a diverse career as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher. Ms. Youn has appeared in concerts throughout the United States, Canada, Germany, Korea and Japan, in venues such as Symphony Hall and Jordan Hall in Boston, Suntory and Minatomirai Hall of Japan, Orpheum Hall in Canada and St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. Dr. Youn is a graduate of the New England Conservatory and received Doctor of Musical Arts from Boston University under the tutelage of Yeesun Kim and Michael Reynolds. Dr. Youn has performed in festivals including Aspen, Banff, Beethoven Institute, Bowdoin, Orford and the Kronberg Academy's Cello Festival. After relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area, she regularly performs with the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Music Silicon Valley and Sound Impact. Dr. Youn holds teaching positions at Jou Music Institute & Encore Music Academy. |

Pianist Menghua Lin, a native of Taiwan. She was winner of Yamaha Piano Competition Junior Division, Chautauqua Music Festival Concerto Competition, Pennsylvania Music Teacher Association Piano Competition, Steinway Piano Competition, and Pittsburgh Concert Society Major Audition. Menghua has given more than 100 performances in USA, Europe, and Asia. She is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Manhattan School of Music, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Currently she serves as piano faculty at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan and Community School of Music and Arts in Mountain View. |

Pianist Ching Shih was born in Taipei, Taiwan. She was the first prize winner of Capital Youth Concerto Competition in 2000. She majored in Piano Performance and graduated with a Masters in Music from the University of Washington in 2003, then moved to the Bay Area in 2004. She joined the Fortnightly Music Club in 2007. She currently lives and teaches in San Francisco and enjoys performing classical music. |

Violinist Ima-Karina* grew up in a family in Caracas that epitomized the cultural traditions of Venezuela through music and art. As a third-generation musician, Ima with her family group 'Los Narvaez' over the years travelled around the world from Venezuela via Switzerland, Germany, Prague and Moscow to India to share the musical traditions of 'Sangre Venezolana.' She was formally trained in the J.J Landaeta conservatory and worked at the FilarmoĢnica Nacional Orchestra. With a full scholarship, she travelled to Switzerland to receive a Violin Performance Degree at the Kayaleh Academy and a masters in French Literature from the University of Geneva. She served as a violin professor at Ludissima International School at Crans and at the MusicEnsemble Orchestra at the Geneva Conservatory, before moving to Palo Alto, where she currently lives and inspires a new generation to play the Violin. |

Cellist Walter Halvorsen holds a degree in Violoncello Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music where he studied with soloist Paul Tobias. He also studied at the New School of Music in Philadelphia under the tutelage of Orlando Cole of the Curtis String Quartet. He was a founding member of the Silverwood Trio and performed in chamber music series throughout the Boston area for 11 years. In the SF Bay Area he has performed in chamber music ensembles on the Cal Arte Ensemble, Fortnightly Music Club, Soiree Musicale and Stanford Hospital Bing concert series. |
