Wangchen Long, violin, has played in the Opera San Jose, Santa Cruz Symphony, San Jose Chamber Orchestra, West Bay Opera, Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, and performed at the Adriatic Chamber Music Festival in Bonefro, Italy. She has taught strings at Prunedale Christian Academy in addition to a small private studio, with students in San Jose Youth Symphony and San Jose Chamber Youth Orchestra. She had appeared as soloist with orchestras in PA, TX and CA, and studied violin with Daniel Kobialka, Heiichiro Ohyama, and Jenny Rudin.
Lucinda Breed Lenicheck, cello, played Principal Cello with Opera San Jose for 32 years and performs free-lance and chamber music, teaching in her Palo Alto studio. Ms. Lenicheck has taught at Mills College, Stanford University, and San Jose State University. She was former Principal Cello, S.J. Chamber Orchestra and Pro Musica Chamber Orchestra of Columbus; and taught at Kenyon College, Otterbein College, and Capital University. Her background includes The Banff School, Tanglewood, the Spoleto Festival, and Stanford BA and MA degrees.
Pianist Ching Shih was born in Taipei, Taiwan. She majored in Piano Performance and graduated with a Masters in Music from the University of Washington in 2003, then moved to the Bay Area in 2004. She joined the Fortnightly Music Club in 2007. She currently lives in San Francisco and enjoys performing classical music.
Violinist Norine Chang grew up in Los Angeles County and performed her earliest recitals with her little brother as an accompanist. During her pre-college years she won her share of local competitions and served as concertmaster in youth orchestras. Ms. Chang has appeared in summer festivals across North America, including the nearby St. Lawrence String Quartet Chamber Music Seminar, ARIA International in Massachusetts, Summit Music Festival in New York, Northwestern University Summer Violin Institute in Illinois, Domaine Forget in Quebec, and Orford Academy, also in Quebec. She holds both bachelor's and master's degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University and is a research engineer in Silicon Valley.
Kari Kirk*, soprano, worked for many years in the consumer electronics industry producing award-winning educational and sports software, while pursuing her lifelong passion for the vocal arts. Art song repertoire was a focus of her early training which primarily took place through private study with voice and diction faculty from the San Francisco Conservatory of music and through many young artists programs and master classes here and abroad. Having performed roles with Opera San Jose and other regional companies, she now performs widely in the Bay Area, most recently with acclaimed SF contemporary dance company Garrett+Moulton, The Albany Consort, and The Saint Michael Trio in venues including Bing at Stanford, Grace Cathedral, Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, Fox Theatre, and Villa Montalvo.
Pianist Beverly Rollins holds degrees in music from Indiana University at Bloomington, and Computer Science from Oregon Graduate Center. She teaches piano, accompanies, and plays chamber music in the South Bay Area.
Jeff Wolfeld, clarinet, has been working as a software engineer and performing as a clarinetist in the Bay Area since 1981, with interludes in Portland, Boston, and Munich. A New York native, he studied with Naomi Drucker, and later with Michael Corner of Symphony Silicon Valley. Jeff has performed in numerous chamber concerts and regional orchestras around the Bay Area, and served as principal clarinet with the Newton Symphony Orchestra in Massachusetts and the Stanford Philharmonia. He was a founding member of the Avanti Winds, the Stanford Klezmer Band and the Beth Am klezmer band, Klezmore Square.
